Job Description:

The Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital seeks a Director for its Hypermobility Clinic. Strong foundational leadership skills, exceptional professionalism, fostering a culture of inclusion, and burgeoning clinical expertise or interest in hypermobility disorders are essential. This provider will lead the division's newly acquired hypermobility clinic which serves adolescents up to the age of 22 years with hypermobility disorders. This position includes emphasis on skill development and refinement. The Director will receive mentorship and leadership training to help them grow the clinical program. The Director may hold a joint appointment in another clinical division, depending on their other clinical areas of focus and board eligibility or certification.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Cincinnati Children's was founded in 1960 and consist of a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team of individuals who are committed to transforming adolescent health outcomes through exceptional clinical programs, high-impact clinical and translational research, innovative educational programs, and effective academic and community partnerships. Our vision is "One team, one vision: Every adolescent healthy and thriving," reflecting our commitment to work collaboratively to ensure health and health equity, and to take a holistic approach to adolescent health and well-being. Clinical programs include a hospital-based primary care practice and a consultative practice focusing on all adolescent health issues including eating disorders, mental health disorders, transgender care, LGBTQ+ health, HIV care, substance use disorder, and sexual and reproductive health. We also provide care at the city's juvenile detention center. A program in young men's health will be launched soon. The division has a robust, externally funded research program, with 50% of faculty holding external research funding. Many educational opportunities are available, starting at the middle school and high school level with pathway programs and encompassing medical student, resident, and fellowship training programs.

Requirements

Faculty would qualify for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. However, faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The ideal candidates have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, education, and/or research and are:

  • MD's or DO's
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in General Pediatrics, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, or Family Medicine
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Adolescent Medicine strongly preferred but not required for this role.
