In this role, you will provide BlackRock Aladdin support to Columbia Threadneedle Investments by identifying process improvements and produce supporting data dictionaries to support business needs. The Aladdin Business Support Analyst will understand Aladdin user needs, permission structure and keep up with fast-paced changes and requests. You will work directly with Investments personnel and vendor to support critical business applications and processes. This role will help our business to ensure we are fully utilizing all aspects of the Aladdin system and drive increased uptake and use of all the available Aladdin tools and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting weekly meetings with BlackRock Solutions (BRS) where the topics of discussion include enhancements to Aladdin, escalations from within the Investments, production issues and remediation steps
Work closely with stakeholder business areas to understand priorities across both day-to-day inquiry and projects, taking into consideration the holistic business area and communicate to BRS accordingly
Provide feedback to BRS on quality and timeliness of responses
Take notes on across a spectrum of meetings with detailed action points
Maintain weekly ticket lists
Support the Aladdin permission process and ensure adherence to audit reviews and controls
Including day to day implementation of permissions and user group access changes
Quarterly reviews of Aladdin permissions and access across the firm
Ongoing project work to make the permissions structure more efficient and evolve with the business
Review of new fund launches to ensure all relevant access is in place
Act as an escalation point and source of information for the Aladdin SuperUser group globally. Cascade information relating to new functionality and changes within the system to this group.
Assist Business Managers with communication to the Front Office regarding urgent Aladdin issues, changes to Aladdin and updates on relevant projects
Data gathering, analysis and reporting
Documentation
Maintain and further develop procedure documentation, including coordinating business sign off and review of said procedures
Document portfolio group and permissions data dictionaries
Be part of a global team, working with counterparts in North America to maintain continued alignment, consistent documentation and leverage each other's areas of expertise
Continually look to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and workflow across investments as they relate to Aladdin
Work directly with Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Manager Assistants to understand their workflows, identify general gaps, provide hands on assistance with projects
Required Qualifications
3 - 5 years relevant experience in Asset Management
2 - 3 years experience with BlackRock Aladdin
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
BlackRock Aladdin knowledge and experience: reporting and order management tools, as well as understanding permission structure
Ability to analyze data, identify patterns and red flags, propose solutions
Strong relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues globally at different levels in the organization
Ability to thrive in rapidly changing environment - proactive, flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to determine and document requirements from business users
Must work well independently
Experience with Power BI
Understanding of Equity, Fixed Income, Derivative investments
Knowledge of SharePoint site construction
Experience of systems user access protocols
Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action, and adapt to change
