Job Description:

A full-time opportunity is available for an experienced strategic, tactical and resourceful Buyer_Sr. Buyer/Planner. In this key, highly visible role, you will manage procurement, production planning, and Supply Chain activities, while meeting growth demands. Core responsibilities include driving demand through manufacturing orders (MO's), while effectively managing cost and availability of material through successful procurement, commodity management, as well as overseeing our suppliers and contract manufacturers.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor, broad-based role in a small, collaborative organization, with growth potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively drive master scheduling activities to analyze production requirements utilizing MRP/ERP system driven requirements
  • Generate manufacturing orders (MO's) that steer optimal production and material demand
  • Oversee inventory and non-inventory procurement activities, seeking lowest cost while retaining product quality, quantity, delivery, and services essential to the success of our manufacturing and engineering operational goals
  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory recorded in the ERP system
  • Participate in overseeing the activities of external subcontractors and suppliers, including but not limited to price, quality, service, productivity, and delivery
  • Effectively manage supply chain activities. Utilize our existing supply chain and operational processes, make ongoing recommendations for enhancements, and remain current on all activities
  • Manage project purchasing/buy to order activities, to include reviewing the status of purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Oversee and optimize the vendor managed inventory process
  • Enter purchase orders in the ERP/MRP system. Monitor and maintain min/mid/max levels of purchased components
  • Plan, execute, and participate in the reconciliation of stock cycle counts
  • Enter new items and BOM's
  • Collaborate with our engineering team on new product introduction procurement requirements
  • Participate in the ongoing management, improvement, and enhancement of our MRP/ERP system
  • Actively participate in lean activities and contribute to our MRB and ECO teams
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required and as business needs demand

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of progressively successful, strategic and tactical broad-based experience encompassing procurement, production planning, supplier management and supply chain management with an industrial manufacturer. BSBA/ BSME preferred
  • Proven experience in effectively driving master scheduling activities to analyze production requirements utilizing MRP/ERP system driven requirements
  • Solid shop/floor experience
  • Strong experience entering and managing complex PO's and BOM's in an MRP/ERP system
  • Proven success in managing inventory and non-Inventory procurement activities, seeking lowest cost while retaining product quality, quantity, delivery, and services throughout business cycles and growth demands
  • Strong MRP/ERP utilization and management skills. MS Dynamics /Great Plains preferred
  • Solid MS Office skills
  • Self-directed, resourceful and detail oriented with excellent analytical, planning, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, communications, budgeting and negotiation skills
  • Ability and willingness to use and rely on our existing processes and established guidelines in the performance of the work, and developing/enhancing processes and methods
  • Hands-on and solutions-oriented with enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative, small team environment, interacting well with all levels of management and staff
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10%
  • Must have a clean, valid US driver's license
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Franklin, MA facility during the day shift M-F, with flexibility for additional hours during peak times
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
