Skyfall Biologicals has a great opportunity to be involved at the beginning of a new production facility at our greenfield site in Geismar Louisiana. As the Environmental, Health and Safety Leader, you will develop, implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures necessary for a safe and healthy work environment. You will serve as the Site Emergency Response Coordinator as well as the contact for all regulatory agencies. This position requires a hands-on approach, team-based and the ability to work with outside resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement environmental, health and safety procedures for the site.
Prepare and conduct training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, environmental compliance and other required topics.
Develop and implement inspection procedures including documentation of findings and followup /close-out of action items.
Maintain all required OSHA and EPA compliance programs including Hazard Communication, Industrial Hygiene, Lockout/Tagout, Elevated Work, others.
Lead, document and close-out near miss/incident investigations including completion of Root Cause Analysis
Manage relationship with external EHS service providers to ensure compliance with Air/Water/Waste regulations.
Interface with local, state and federal agencies including completion and submittal of all reporting requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / EDUCATION:
BS degree in Safety and Health or related field
Minimum 10 years' experience in an EHS role with 5+ years in an industrial setting
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and policies, including PSM.
Familiarity with EPA regulations and policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience in inspection and management of change software is a plus
Visible commitment to safety and proven effectiveness in working on teams.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Able to self-start, multitask and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Candidates must be capable of tolerating outdoor temperatures and weather conditions, working in a noisy environment while wearing PPE, lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders and stairs. Candidates could be required to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime.
