Context: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team within the oilfield energy services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, specifically in buying, with extensive experience in inventory management systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, and E1. This role requires a proactive approach to managing supply chain operations, enhancing vendor relations, and optimizing cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the entire procurement process for oilfield equipment and services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective acquisition.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Utilize JD Edwards, Oracle, and E1 systems for order processing, inventory tracking, and financial reporting.
Implement and oversee inventory management practices, including setting and maintaining minimum and maximum inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Analyze market trends and vendor performance to recommend procurement and inventory strategies that align with company objectives.
Coordinate with internal departments to forecast needs and plan procurement schedules.
Ensure compliance with both internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements.
Address and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment, supplier performance, and invoice discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a procurement role within the oilfield energy services industry.
Proficiency in JD Edwards, Oracle, and E1 inventory management systems.
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and techniques, including min/max inventory levels.
Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and terms.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across various departments.
Additional Skills:
Certification in Supply Chain Management such as CPSM or CSCP is preferred.
Knowledge of the latest industry trends and technologies in oilfield energy services procurement.
