ABOUT THE JOB
As the Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the inspection and management of our company's facilities and grounds. Reporting directly to the Plant General Manager, you will ensure that all properties are in optimal operating condition, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. Managing maintenance and custodial staff through subordinate supervisors, you will also coordinate office moves, expansion projects, and janitorial duties. Your responsibilities will extend to negotiating and overseeing outside vendor contracts and interfacing with management staff at two other locations.
Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment
Supervise custodial operations and maintenance in daily repair and preventative maintenance duties, implementing a consistent preventative maintenance program across all assets
Ensure proper maintenance of lighting, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems
Plan and oversee major renovations and new construction projects
Respond to fire alarms and conduct weekend facility checks, performing inspections to identify and resolve issues
Monitor expenses, control the maintenance budget, and ensure an adequate inventory of parts
Implement a consistent preventative maintenance program across all assets
Negotiate, oversee, and coordinate contracted services, including landscaping, snow removal, pest control, vertical transportation, and fire and life safety systems
Execute equipment audits and enforce record-taking policies
Coordinate with the Director of Capital Projects on the implementation of new building projects
Review maintenance processes and develop maintenance and technician training manuals
Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Previous Facilities Management experience or degree from a vocational trade school
Proven managerial experience and leadership abilities to oversee a staff of 10 to 30 mechanics and custodians
