TRIO Student Support Services furthers the mission of Bellevue College by providing individualized support services to students with limited income and first-generation college students to assist them with their academic success. These services include but are not limited to academic advising, personal guidance and support, transfer planning, assistance with financial aid processes, study skills development, and tutoring. The department goal is to promote and sustain strategies that improve student success, retention, and completion. TRIO works to achieve these goals by offering programs, resources and guidance that facilitate the students' transition to college and that supports their progress through graduation and transfer to bachelor's degree programs.
The Program Specialist 3 works under general direction and reports to the TRIO Director. The nature of the work is professional, and requires an ability to work in accordance of college rules, policies, and regulations, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. The position performs complex duties. The Program Specialist 3/Student Success Specialist coordinates programs and services, providing assistance and individualized case management to TRIO students. This position works with Bellevue College faculty and staff, and college representatives. The position recommends resolution for complex problems and issues related to the student's individualized needs. Incumbents assess TRIO participants' needs and develop specialized services and training unique to the Department and are responsive to the needs of TRIO students. The use of professional judgement based on the assessment of student needs and individual circumstances is required for this position.
This is Part-Time (20 hours workweek) project position. Depending on funding availability, the position may be extended.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Position Salary Range: $28,992/year - $39,048/year
The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Individuals newly hired to Classified position are placed in a salary range based on the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
