Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
Work with specified company sales representative and with other company representatives to develop construction drawings, material lists, design assistance and details of projects for the company. Provide technical assistance to personnel within the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain schedule of work for drafting of projects within scope of area of work.
• Secure technical assistance and advice from company personnel and/or trades people as required.
• Use correct materials in work-up from correct material lists and/or from acceptable vendor sources.
• Secure required information from staff structural engineer for proper code and/or structural compliance.
• Contact sources of supply or services to gather technical data and pricing necessary for work-up of
projects.
• Review developed estimate(s) with the salesperson(s).
• Review written specifications with the salesperson(s).
• Work with the sales representative(s) and staff engineer to develop accurate AutoCAD/REVIT
construction drawings.
• Develop thorough, accurate and complete material lists for the purchasing and packaging of required
building materials for each project.
• Provide technical assistance and/or project information to departments and personnel who follow
behind drafting after the sold project turn in.
• Attend meetings as required for project work-up status updates or for regular departmental scheduled
meetings.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning in investigating and solving problems.
• Respecting the confidentiality of customer and company information.
• Maintaining cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other company employees.
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload.
• Other duties assigned by manager.

EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Preferred: Associate Degree in Technical Field

EXPERIENCE
Required: One to five years of experience in the building trades
Preferred: Five to ten years of experience in the building trades including experience in drafting (CAD) and estimating.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to communicate with people in the gathering of information for development of construction drawings, material lists, design assistance and detail of projects for the company. Thorough knowledge of building designs, materials, and construction techniques. Ability to take materials, building concepts, building trades
information, proposals and specifications and develop them into construction drawings and material lists. Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office 365 software as well as ability to operate AutoCAD or REVIT.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work conducted in environmentally controlled office environment. Limited travel to customer sites for review of construction and/or investigation for drafting purposes.
