Drs. Silva, Vassalos, Thayer, and Smith at Clemson University are seeking applications for a post-doctoral fellow in agriculture and applied economics with experience in designing, conducting and analyzing surveys and discrete choice experiments. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in econometrics and applied consumer theory to agricultural products.
The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers on the economics of climate smart practices for agricultural commodities and analysis of consumer acceptance and willingness to pay for commodities produced with such practices.
Experience working directly with stakeholders (e.g. producers, local business, restaurants, etc.) groups is a plus. Also, experience with consumer or overall market analysis of leafy greens, peanuts and beef is a plus.
Anticipated start date is Fall 2024 (August 15th, 2024). The appointment will be for one year with options for yearly renewal for up to three years based on performance.
Minimum Requirements:
• A PhD degree in agricultural economics, economics, or closely related field, and
• Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing surveys and discrete choice experiments.
