Job Description:
The job description is:
* Client accounting work, which includes the following:
* Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
* Amortization of prepaid expenses
* Calculation and recording depreciation
* Reviewing general ledger, trial balances and financial statements
* Posting adjusting journal entries
* Prepare financial statements for clients.
* Accounting software installation, setup, training and support, which includes:
* Installing and setting up QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online accounting software.
* Training non-accountants how to use QuickBooks
* Provide accounting support to non-accountants
* Provide QuickBooks Support
* Payroll services, which includes:
* Preparing payroll, paying payroll taxes and filing payroll tax returns for clients
* Training and providing technical support for clients who do their own payroll
* Sales tax preparation, which includes:
* Having in-depth knowledge of sales tax law
* Applying for sales tax licenses
* Preparing sales tax returns for clients
* Reviewing sales tax returns prepared by clients
* Training clients on how to file sales tax returns properly
* Income tax preparation, which includes:
* Working knowledge of ProSeries tax software
* Having in-depth knowledge of income tax law
* Preparing federal and state personal income tax returns
* Preparing federal and state corporate income tax returns
* Preparing federal and state partnership income tax returns
* Preparing federal and state tax-exempt organization income tax returns
* Doing online tax research
* Completion of tax training courses on a regular basis
* Administrative duties, which includes:
* Answering the phones and greeting visitors
* Tracking time worked throughout the day and recording it in our QuickBooks software
* Setting up support calls that come in
* Obtaining and recording information from client leads
* Following up on client leads regularly
* Update practice management spreadsheets
* Preparing and scanning documents, preparing emails and letter to clients, federal, state and local government agencies
* Maintaining and updating our company policy and procedure manuals
Our minimum qualifications are as follows:
* Minimum of three years of CPA firm working experience as a staff accountant, doing all of the following:
* Personal, partnership, corporation, and tax-exempt organization tax preparation
* Sales tax preparation
* Payroll preparation, filing quarterly, and annual reports
* QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online installation, setup, training and support
* General ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
* Accounting degree from a college or junior college
* Currently resides in the Greater New Orleans area.
