Purpose: The Solar O&M Technician will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting system issues, both remotely and on-site, and handle both preventive and corrective maintenance for operational projects.
Reports to: Director of Construction
Essential Job Functions:
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
Respond to troubleshooting equipment (onsite & offsite) malfunctions/failures-including electrical troubleshooting and use of electrical testing equipment.
Perform and address scheduled onsite preventative/corrective maintenance as needed.
Identify and document faults, deviations, safety violations, etc.
Document site issues and resolutions, prepare timely reports accordingly.
Ensure work adheres to relevant building and safety codes.
High-level expertise in PV commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting
Review and ensure commissioning tests meet established standards.
Conduct final punch list walkthroughs with electrical subcontractors.
Performs work independently and/or part of team.
Requirements | Competencies:
Minimum 2 years of experience in solar electrical work in construction or O&M with In-depth and extensive knowledge of solar energy systems
High School Diploma, electrical license and NABCEP Installer Certification highly preferred
Advanced electrical and PV-related troubleshooting skills with knowledge solar modules, combiner boxes, inverters, PV wiring.
Valid driver's license
OSHA certification
Proficiency in using ladders and working at heights.
Understanding of construction documents and ability to read plans.
Must have valid work authorization.
Travel up to 75% of the time.
