Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering License
10 years of experience designing electrical generation systems
Experience with the operation and construction support of electrical generation systems
General knowledge of electric utility regulations, policies, codes, laws, rules, and regulations.
Experience leading an engineering discipline, and handling their budget.
Has to have led the design efforts of a minimum of 1 project to relevant discipline
Has to have managed a team before
Plusses:
Experience designing transmission and distribution systems
Experience with the operation and construction of Transmission and Distribution Systems
Experience with project controls, scheduling, project management, cost control and reporting.
Day-to-Day:
A client of Insight Global in the Engineering and Power Generation industry is seeking a Manager of Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls Engineering. The Manager of Electrical and I&C will lead engineering design teams on Power Generation and Industrial projects.
Leading the design of the electrical systems and reviewing other designs performed by staff to ensure it is technically correct and appropriate.
Coordinating and approving the preparation of material specifications and construction standards for electrical systems.
Organizing, managing and providing technical support for the electrical generation, transmission and distribution system and electrical design of energy/industrial facilities.
Supervising staff; evaluating and reviewing work performance for acceptability and conformance with department standards, goals and/or local competencies.
Works with employees to correct deficiencies; plans, coordinates and arranges for appropriate training of assigned staff.
Preparing the division budget; controlling and monitoring expenses within budget; ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost consciousness.
Scheduling and performing range of estimated costs related to electrical system construction projects; informs contractors, customers and coordinates with other divisions as necessary.
Coordinating work with and receiving approval of other departments including writing contract documents for construction and electrical system planning projects.
Conducting studies and making recommendations regarding the operating capacity of the electrical system.

Compensation:
$67/hr to $77/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
