Job Description




Job Overview: The Medical Technologist is responsible for analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. This role requires a deep understanding of medical laboratory procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.



Responsibilities:


  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests on patient samples using automated and manual methods.

  • Analyze and interpret test results to provide accurate and reliable information to clients.

  • Ensure the proper collection, handling, and preservation of specimens.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.

  • Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain the integrity of laboratory results.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Stay updated on advancements in medical laboratory technology and incorporate new techniques as appropriate.

  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

  • Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff members.



  • Qualifications




    Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of medical laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tests.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency in computer skills.

  • Current knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.



  • Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred but not mandatory for highly qualified candidates.



    Additional Information



    Position is full-time Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Louisville, KT are encouraged to apply.
