Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team at our The Dalles, OR facilities. Salary Range

$90,000 to $110,000 per year; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. Full-time. This position is eligible for the annual profit-sharing bonus program.

We have two production facilities located in The Dalles, Oregon, specifically dedicated to processing cherries. The facilities are equipped with advanced sorting and pitting equipment, enabling us to efficiently process large volumes of cherries while maintaining strict quality standards. We take our environmental responsibility seriously and have implemented a number of eco-friendly practices at the facilities, such as water conservation measures and use energy-efficient lighting and equipment to reduce our carbon footprint. Our facilities are an important part of the Pacific Northwest's agricultural industry and play a key role in the production of high-quality cherry products for consumers around the world.

The EHS Manager will be pivotal in promoting and ensuring workplace safety and environmental compliance through the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive EHS programs.

Primary job duties would include:

  • Champion EHS awareness across the facility by modeling safe behaviors and staying informed about the latest in environmental, health, and safety compliance, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Develop and implement EHS procedures, policies, and guidelines to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify potential risks.
  • Collaborate with employees and management to mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe practices promptly.
  • Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for third parties, including neighboring businesses, local councils, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support environmental compliance efforts related to NPDES, Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP), hazardous materials, and waste management.
  • Participate in incident investigations, manage Workers’ Compensation claims, assist with case management, and help develop and implement corrective actions while ensuring thorough completion of related reports.
  • Prepare and present EHS reports as requested.
  • Deliver EHS training and participate actively in operational and committee meetings.
  • Facilitate emergency evacuation procedures and other safety drills.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the facility’s EHS objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience, including site remediation, with at least 2 years in a management capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous manufacturing experience; experience in the food and/or beverage industry preferred.
  • Direct experience with SMP and RMP.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
  • ASP/CSP Certification.
  • Knowledge of both environmental and safety compliance.
