The Psychiatry department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor, Research Laboratory to work on-site on the UHealth campus.




CORE FUNCTIONS



  • Keeps all laboratory equipment in good working order and makes minor repairs.

  • Oversees and collaborates in the development of study tools.

  • Evaluates the availability of resources for research studies and the impact of studies on resources.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures.

  • Reviews numerous laboratory results and enters abnormal results into database.

  • Coordinates trainings and monitors performance of procedures.

  • Assists in the determination of fiscal requirements and in the preparation of budgetary recommendations.

  • Prepares reports setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Department Specific Functions



Supervise and manage The Media and innovation Lab (The MIL) 5 verticals: education, healthcare delivery, research, venture and outreach and service Assist PI with supervising and managing The MIL budget and operations Manage administrative operations of The MIL Manages the acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment Manage compliance with funding terms Identifying and tracking of success metrics for The MIL Defining product roadmaps and product requirements based on the needs of the medical research community at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Measure and evaluate the success of solutions; present roadmaps and progress to executive stakeholders. Performing some project management duties (e.g. using Agile development methodologies) to ensure that product development aligns with the product roadmap, on schedule and within budget
