Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead project teams in creating mechanical system construction documents for healthcare building type projects. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing the mechanical systems in their entirety, taking into consideration the project budget, client objectives and coordination with all related disciplines. Other responsibilities include keeping up with trends in engineering, attending professional development events and maintaining positive client relationships. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in healthcare design, strong attention to detail, desire for organization and effective communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Technical design and quality control on assigned projects including all mechanical system calculations and layouts
• Maintain best practice engineering methods and current code requirements
• Oversee production of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities
• Construction administration, site visits and shop drawing review per project
• Explore and implement ways to improve cost-efficiency
• Mentor mechanical designers and assist director with quality assurance review process


Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Engineering field with in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems. Related experience in the design of healthcare building systems. Knowledge of current mechanical, energy and FGI codes. Medical gas design experience is preferred, but not required.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not required. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.

Qualifications/Skills:

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace & Revit. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without the need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential duty effectively.
