Join the Publix Technology Team as a Senior Software Engineer on our Pharmacy Clinical Services team where you will be part of a fast-paced team leveraging Java to support Pharmacy Clinical Operations. You will be responsible for playing a key role in implementing new and complex systems, analyzing production problems, building tools to automate support processes, and monitoring the health of the on-premise hosting environments  The most suitable hire for this position will be a technical candidate with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, and mentoring skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business partners. In addition, the position will participate in 24x7 rotational on-call support.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain code with architecture and security standards.


• Participate in regular Scrum ceremonies including daily scrum, sprint review, sprint retros and sprint planning.


• Troubleshoot complex applications and perform root cause analysis.


• Use Azure DevOps to track backlog item level of effort, track tasks and keep sprint boards up to date.


• Participate in a 24x7 production support rotation.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience


• 5+ years of software engineering experience


• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting complex applications in an enterprise environment.


• 5+ years of experience in analyzing complex business problems or processes and translating business requirements into technology solutions considering performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership.


• 5+ years of experience with Oracle or other SQL databases including database design and authoring complex queries.


• 5+ years of experience with Java object-oriented programming


• 3+ years of experience in Spring Batch


• 3+ years of experience with Spring Boot


• 2+ years of experience with Unix (Solaris/RHEL) shell


• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 production support rotation on an as needed basis.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience


• 1+ years of experience implementing container orchestration technology in a production environment (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker Swarm, or similar)


• 1+ years of experience in a development leadership or mentorship role


• 1+ years of experience with Kafka/message-driven development


• 1+ years of experience with Angular


• Experience designing and developing versioned RESTful APIs


• Experience with Junit


• Experience using Git as a source control system.


• Experience with Messaging in a Service-Oriented Architecture
