Primary Duties (include but not limited to)


  • Be a working team member of the Co-Gen operating team – troubleshoot, adjust, and operate Co-Gen, Boiler House (BoHo), & Water treatment Plant (WTP) processes


  • Provide shift leadership for Co-Gen operations – provide work direction to operating team members, lead shift operations team meetings, develop plan of the day, & lead the decision-making process for problems and out of standard conditions surrounding Co-Gen, BoHo, & WTP


  • Lead capability development of operators to operate equipment to standard and to do all routine maintenance work.


  • Provide on the job training for Co-Gen inside & outside operators


  • Manage team performance – provide feedback & annual performance assessments


  • Participate in department objective & goal setting


  • Participate in weekly maintenance planning


  • Participate in planning of major outages


  • Participate in failure analysis and follow-up on action items


  • Support development and adherence to housekeeping standards


  • Learn & monitor other utilities processes on nights & weekend (i.e., chiller farm, mill service water systems, compressed air, condensate return pumps)


  • Provide confined space supervision


  • Work toward level 2 wastewater treatment plant license

Required:


  • Have a state and/or US Department of Education accredited high school diploma, GED Grade 12 certificate


  • Relevant work experience in electrical Co-generation, Boiler House, Water Treatment processes


  • Able to perform Co-Gen Outside Operator duties for water treatment equipment, water chemistry, river pumps, ETP rounds, compressor rounds, & other outside rounds as necessary)


  • Able to perform Co-Gen Inside Operator duties, including turbines, steam system, electrical systems, process air systems, and Rockwell Control System in-depth.


  • Possess high degree of "people" skills and be able to effectively communicate with other team members daily.


  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedule (including nights & weekends)


  • Candidate must be able to work on elevated work platforms, catwalks, scaffolding, etc. Enter and work in confined spaces.


Preferred:


  • CT OE-2 Limited Operating Engineer Journeyperson License


  • Mechanical abilities a plus


  • Knowledge of SAP
