We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our music business/artist management firm client. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, with a strong background in corporate tax, 1040 filings, and partnerships. A CPA qualification is highly preferred, and candidates with this credential will be given priority consideration. This is an exciting and fast-paced role within the music industry. Office is hybrid (2x/week WFH).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including C-corporations, S-corporations, and LLCs.
2. Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to provide insightful recommendations to clients.
3. Assist in the preparation and review of individual tax returns (Form 1040) for high-net-worth individuals.
4. Handle tax planning and consulting engagements to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities.
5. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation for tax filings.
6. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
7. Provide guidance and support to junior staff members on tax-related matters.
8. Maintain accurate documentation and workpapers to support tax positions and filings.
9. Participate in client meetings and communicate effectively to address tax-related inquiries and concerns.
10. Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 2-5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
3. CPA qualification highly preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of corporate tax laws and regulations.
5. Experience with individual tax returns (Form 1040) and partnership tax filings preferred.
6. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Discretion around high profile clientele is a MUST.
10. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
