Power Engineer II

As a Power Engineer II, you will be ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our power systems and energy distribution networks within our mining facilities.

Focus:
• Design, analyze, and oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical power systems across mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations pertaining to electrical and power systems.
• Reviews Engineering Plans.
• Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to develop power systems that meet operational needs while optimizing energy use and minimizing environmental impact.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of electrical machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical power failures or malfunctions.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on generators, turbines, and other critical power equipment.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and system reports.
• Implement new technologies and practices to enhance power efficiency and reliability.

Skill Set:
• Bachelor's degree and/or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power engineering, preferably in the mining or a similar heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, and energy management such as AutoCAD, SKM-PTW, ETAP, AcSELerator Quickset, Envervista, or Synchrowave.
• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
• Traveling Required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
