Plans, designs and implements a variety of professional duties including advising, counseling, recruiting and retaining students within the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences. Serves as a primary contact for faculty, staff current and prospective students for four majors. Other duties as signed.
JOB DUTIES:
70% - Essential - Advising & Counseling: Plans, implements, and evaluates activities related to the advising and counseling of students in designated CBSHS undergraduate program(s) in a variety of areas, including admissions procedures, registration and course selection, academic progress, policy interpretation, career overviews, transfer credit, course substitutions, change of major and personal development through 60 credit hours of coursework taken at Clemson or the first semester of transfer coursework is completed. Assigns students to faculty as agreed upon by assigned department. Plans and implements new student orientation for students entering assigned majors as freshmen and transfer. Follows all applicable policies and procedures. Monitors enrollment in major to meet departmental goals. Attend departmental faculty meetings as requested by department.
15% - Essential - Retention: Plans, implements, and evaluates activities designed to retain students within designated CBSHS majors. Participates in the Success Matters initiative through the Academic Success Center. Serves as the primary point of contact for students as well as departmental faculty in assigned major(s). Participates in activities sponsored by the Bridge to Clemson program for assigned majors. Assists with the production of departmental recruiting brochures, materials, college displays, photos, and publications. Monitors needed website updates for advising center and department.
15% - Essential - Recruitment: Recruits prospective students to CBSHS and assigned majors by providing accurate information concerning the admissions process, degree requirements, career outlook and facts about CBSHS and the assigned major's academic programs. Serves as primary point of contact for prospective transfer and first-year students to assigned major(s). Participates in recruiting activities and special events for the University, CBSHS, and the Academic Advising Center. Coordinates with internal and external constituencies for all special event planning and implementation.

Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree Work Exp 1+ years
