Job Description:

The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of boatyard and marina management, including dock maintenance, boat slips, equipment, leases, rentals, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives. The General Manager is responsible for cultivating a team environment that provides exceptional customer service to members while directing the management team and ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations and management of the businessDemonstrate excellent customer service to Members and teammates alikeSupervise and train all marina teammates including coordinating training, mentoring and all onboarding activitiesManage maintenance work done throughout the facility to ensure safe and acceptable property and equipment, as well as esthetics appearanceCoordinates with Marketing team to manage slip and service sales in accordance with brand standardsManage Member and guest relations effectively and handle escalated issues while working to meet goals associated with Net Promoter ScoreOversee the performance of maintenance on buildings, facilities, docks, lifts, equipment, member areas and grounds.Sustain and optimize profitability, performance and guest satisfactionEstablish and budget, proactively manage variances and work to create new profit centersSupervise inventory control for parts and ship stores as requiredMaintain positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and local authoritiesComply with all safety procedures OSHA, EPA, DEEP and Department of Labor rules and regulationsSupport the management and execution of capital expenditure projects as neededWork with HR team to hire, train and retain teammates according to established policies and proceduresSupport corporate team in the onboarding process of new SHM marinas as neededOther duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate or Bachelors Degree preferred5 years relevant experience preferred including at least 2 years of experience in supervisory roleProficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Teams and OutlookCMM certification preferredExperience with budgets, salary administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable and slip leasing preferredAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeAbility to lift 25 pounds
