Job Description Summary:
Perform DFH and finish carpentry in the alteration and construction of buildings, cabinets, and specialty wood items. Consult with clients and contractors in a professional manner, assigning tasks, making sure carpentry jobs are completed in due time and ensure work is performed according to Swinerton standards. Discipline, mentor and monitor performance of employees. Support activities at all Swinerton job-sites as directed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:

• Material Handling/Door stocking


• Door Protection


• Hollow Metal doors and frames


• Wood Doors and frames


• Standard hardware preparation and installation


• Timely doors/knock-downs


• Door glazing


• Hardware Material & Schedule comprehension


• Material ordering & Coordinating


• Electric/specialty hardware


• Access Control


• Planning/Forecasting work and scheduling


• Other trade coordination


• Material takeoff


• Subcontract scopes


• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required


• Possess knowledge of common tools and equipment used in carpentry work, along with ways of maintaining and repairing them


• Complete other responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must hold a current Journeyman Carpenter license/certificate (if required by the applicable state, city or county)


• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Foreman DFH or similar role


• Considerable knowledge of: rough and finish carpentry; tools, equipment materials and safety practices of carpentry work; building techniques of new and remodel construction; masonry, concrete, steel, pre-cast and wood construction


• Display hand-to-eye coordination, mathematical skills, strength, stamina, and be detailed orientated


• Display basic computer skills


• Lift and/or pull 75lbs., climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts or other equipment,


• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt


• Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions
