The Opportunity: Unit Coordinator- Medical Unit- White 10
Why This Role Is Important?
As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.
White 10 is a twenty bed adult inpatient unit. The unit serves patients from culturally diverse backgrounds and geographic areas that present with acute and complex medical problems. Patients are generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of the intensive care units.

Individuals who can answer calls from patients, triage messages to nursing team, and communicate with multiple departments.
Individuals who can transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that all of their medical treatments and procedures are carried out with completeness, integrity, confidentiality and security.
Individuals who are highly organized and can prioritize and manage information in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred
• Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train otherwisequalified candidates.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures

• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diversegroups of patients, staff and providers
• Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems
