Job Description:

Nebraska DHHS, Division of Operations, is seeking a dynamic Move Coordinator to join the Central Operations & Materials Services (COMS) team. The Move Coordinator is ready to drive efficiency and excellence in office relocations. From initiating and coordinating FFE changes statewide to managing vendor relationships for seamless transitions, this role is pivotal in optimizing workspace functionality. What you will do as a Move Coordinator:




  • Initiates, monitors, reviews, & coordinates requests for FFE changes, modifications, or repairs for all statewide office locations by agency staff in order support daily program functions while working with program leadership to determine programmatic needs and constraints.

  • Coordinate with inter-departmental and external-departmental staff for planning needs for space management changes. Specifically to begin the coordination process for moving large office groups to help improve workflow. This element requires a significant amount of planning and communication with program leadership to determine needs.

  • Vendor management related to creating bid specifications and subsequently turn over to Materiel's to bid out. This element requires significant coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely, precise, and complete services are performed at a variety of locations across the agency. Specifications may be related to surplus goods, new furniture, ADA accommodations, building services, and physical needs of program and staff for the agency. Administration and compliance with agency and State statutory requirements is required.

  • Identify, inventory, and track excess property removed from office locations during renovations or closure events to ensure they are properly entered into the statewide surplus database.

  • Coordinate regular communications with COMS leadership as well as inter-departmental leaders regarding status of renovation projects, office closures, space management change requests.

  • Responds to incidents of forced office closures to conduct FFE inventories




Requirements / Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in administrative, business management or technical support work including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.



Preferred Qualifications: Must be proficient in written and digital communications as well as have a strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, business information systems, or a field related to the functions of the hiring agency preferred, OR knowledge of and experience in project management theories and practices applicable to highly complex projects; systems and procedures used to evaluate a third-party vendor's performance; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the administration of the project undertaken.



Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.



Hiring rate:
Available wage that will be offered is $19.631 / hr.




Knowledge / Skills / Abilities



Knowledge and skill with AutoCad, BlueBeam, or comparable software to be able to review and utilize office space floor plan layouts preferred. Ability to travel throughout the state on occasion (up to 25%) to coordinate moves at DHHS offices statewide.
