The Payroll and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) Specialist role is critical in ensuring that payroll processes run smoothly and accurately while also leveraging HRIS technology to optimize HR operations and support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Payroll Processing : Managing the entire payroll process, including calculating wages, handling deductions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and issuing payments to employees.
Data Management : Maintaining accurate employee information records such as salaries, benefits, deductions, and time off. This involves inputting new hires, updating employee information, and ensuring data integrity.
Compliance : Staying up to date with labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements related to payroll processing. Ensuring all payroll practices adhere to legal standards.
Reporting : Generating reports related to payroll data, such as payroll summaries, tax reports, and benefit reports. Providing insights and analysis based on this data when needed.
HRIS Management : Implementing, configuring, and maintaining HRIS software to streamline HR processes. This may involve troubleshooting issues, training employees on system usage, and ensuring data security.
Integration : Collaborating with other departments, such as finance and IT, to integrate payroll and HRIS systems with other business systems for seamless data flow.
Employee Support : Assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on company policies and procedures.
Process Improvement : Identifying opportunities to improve payroll and HRIS processes, such as automation, to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Business, HR, or Finance related field.
Human Resources coursework, PHR, SHRM -Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Minimum three years HRIS system experience required (Paycom experience preferred)
Minimum three years Payroll experience required
Experience with Bookkeeping and accounting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Able to write and speak clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect.
