Job Description:

Base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.


Salary: $83,804.00 to $104,756.


Location: Vancouver, Washington


The Avangrid Renewables Analyst, Reliability Assurance reports directly to the Manager, Reliability Assurance and is the team leader for ensuring that our company is compliant with regulatory requirements governing the construction, interconnection, and operation of Avangrid owned generating facilities across the multiple US Independent System Operator regions.


The Reliability Assurance program includes the critical functions of independent system operators (ISO)s and regional transmission organizations (RTO) for each region to ensure the reliable, compliant, and efficient implementation of business objectives and regulatory requirements within the frameworks of the ISOs/RTOs.


The Reliability Assurance program also includes the critical functions of NERC Compliance for all applicable Operations & Planning Reliability Standards, and oversight of the Avangrid Renewables Balancing Authority (BA) operation to ensure the reliable, compliant, and efficient implementation of business objectives and regulatory requirements within the frameworks of the AVRN BA, Western Power Pool, Reliability Coordinator, and Western Energy Imbalance Market constructs.


Job Summary - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:


The Analyst shall establish, administer, and monitor departmental standards, procedures, and performance to minimize risk and ensure compliance with each ISO/RTO's procedures and other regulatory requirements. The Analyst will work with subject matter experts and management to provide specialized technical expertise and support for program development and compliance performance tracking and reporting.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Implement new or revised Reliability Standard requirements - Ongoing review and update of each ISO/RTOs operational rules as well as issuance of guidance documents. Any changes and/or updates will need to be communicated to subject matter experts. The Analyst will coordinate the tracking of changes to the ISO operational rules and manage overall compliance for Avangrid Renewables to ensure that all ISO/RTO operational rules are met.






  • Coordinate audits of each ISO/RTO - The Analyst will be expected to support the preparation of documents prior to external audits and to conduct regular internal audits of individual ISO rules to support maintaining compliance.






  • Document Management - The Analyst will manage the review and updates of policies and procedures in conjunction with subject matter experts.






  • Procedure Documentation - Maintain and update Operational policies, procedures, and associated documentation.





  • Other duties as assigned.



Skills


Education & Experience Required:


  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years in compliance, operations, auditing, control center operations and/or engineering



Skills/Abilities:


  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Able to understand and analyze each region's ISO/RTO Operational rules.

  • Able to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and decision-making.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.

  • Proficient with PC skills and programs, especially Excel.

  • Organized



Desired Skills/Abilities:


  • Experience in Renewable Energy Industry.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience with audits.
