Who are we looking for?


We're looking for a Sr. Coastal / Civil Engineer to join our growing Maritime & Coastal (M&C) group in California! In this role, you will be a technical team member and leader on the engineering design, permitting, bid package preparation, and construction oversight for a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the United States. Such projects will include: coastal, estuary and other waterways restoration and resiliency projects, in addition to municipal infrastructure and other land-based improvements. This position can be located in any of our Southern CA offices (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Irvine or San Diego)

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Assist with the condition assessment, planning, analysis, design and construction oversite of waterfront infrastructure and facilities for port, federal, private and municipal clients such as revetments, living shorelines, harbors, piers, wharves, revetments, and related infrastructure
• Develop design plans & technical specifications for coastal and waterfront infrastructure projects
• Assist with coastal permitting and environmental documents, writing and data preparation for grant applications, collaborating closely with community, stakeholders and industry
• Coordinate and work with cross-discipline teams on other market sector projects
• Support pursuit/proposal efforts, developing scope, schedule, and budget
• Deliver projects on time and within budget
• Maintain project requirements for safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the duration of the project
• Proactively coach, train and provide mentorship and development advice to junior level staff
• Stay current and well advised on M&C market trends, client spending, assets, resiliency and logistics
• Keep up to date with technical qualifications and licenses

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar technical field
• PE license is required
• 8+ years relevant industry related engineering, and design experience, with a strong emphasis on M&C projects
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working on teams and developing and/or interpreting coastal models; including hydrodynamic, wave, and sediment transport
• Well-developed written and verbal communication abilities

Salary Range: $ 108,560 - $162,840 based on experience.
