Sitting for long periods of time; lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs on occasion; must be able to walk to and from the various animal facilities.
Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 5:00pm; Weekends (PRN); On-call; Holidays and as needed.
The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources at the University of Kentucky (UK) is an AAALAC accredited centralized Core Research Service Center that provides animal care and animal research facilities and support for five colleges of the UK Medical Center. Responsibilities include directing and supervising the efficient and compliant operation of the laboratory animal care and use program of the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources; and is responsible for the fiscal operations and management of the DLAR budget. In addition, the Director works with the IACUC, Office of the Attending Veterinarian, and other UK administrators, faculty and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and policies related to humane care and use of animals for research, teaching and testing.
