SUMMARY

The Sr. Specialist, User Experience Design will bring an innovative thinking and a human-centric design approach to work across digital platforms. This role champions user-centered design principles, conducts comprehensive research, and leverages personal expertise to craft exceptional digital experiences for B2C and B2B audiences. This role is part of the web team but will collaborate with teams across the organization and drive UX for website, mobile, ecommerce, personalization and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead user research including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs and pain points.
  • Analyze research data to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create wireframes, flow diagrams, heuristic (expert) reviews, site maps, interaction patterns, and prototypes to communicate user journeys and design approaches.
  • Partner with product owners, stakeholders, content strategists, SEO specialists, visual designers, and developers to ensure a seamless user experience that meets business goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to define, develop, and test best-in-class UX solutions.
  • Translate functional requirements into innovative designs.
  • Champion accessibility principles and inclusive design practices.
  • Leverage analytical skills to identify trends and recommend solutions for improved user comprehension, usability, and effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in user experience design or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a User Experience Designer. 
  • Experience with design tools (Figma, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Familiarity with content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred).
  • Proficiency in analytics tools like HotJar, Google Analytics, and Customer Journey Analytics.
  • Professional UX certifications preferred.
  •  A portfolio of work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to conduct user research and usability testing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate insights into actionable solutions.
  • Able to build strong relationships and bridge the technical and business worlds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of branding and design principles.
  • Proven experience using data to drive successful UX outcomes.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on UX trends.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of performing essential duties with reasonable accommodations.
  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation.
  • Occasional light lifting may be necessary.

Work environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.
  • Expected office presence of 3 days per week.
  • Minimal travel requirements, less than 10%

The hiring range for this position is $83,000 to $95,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
