Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This individual will play a key role in supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with established procedures and deadlines
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and account reconciliations
Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable accounts
Analyze financial data and assist with variance analysis and budgeting activities
Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support audit inquiries as needed
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and files
Assist with the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Provide support to the finance team on ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related role
CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including familiarity with GAAP
