Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The BESS Field Supervisor is responsible for installing, integrating, maintaining, and managing BESS systems including hardware and software. The BESS Field Supervisor will be responsible for supporting field activities at GlidePath's operating assets. Additionally, they will support the development team with new builds and existing plant expansions. The successful candidate will have proven experience working in complex organizations that are undergoing rapid growth and transformation. This position is best-suited for an ambitious, initiative-taking and career-focused individual with BESS experience who is seeking a demanding role with high exposure to senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with cross functional teams and support as Subject Matter Expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage and investigate technical issues that may arise during construction, commissioning and operations for the BESS and overall plant system.
• Develop maintenance and operations procedures to safely and efficiently operate the facilities.
• Supervise and support 3rd Party O&M providers and other vendors.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts.
• Work closely with other teams at GlidePath to ensure data analytics and third-party requirements for monitoring or system dispatching are maintained and optimized.
• Review conceptual project designs for operability and ease of maintenance as well as lessons learned.
• Review electrical single-line diagrams for new BESS projects.
• Recommend capital improvements to project to increase reliability.
• Oversee and comply with OSHA programs and procedures.
• Support in major equipment procurement initiatives including batteries, inverters, and transformers by validating compliance with GlidePath cybersecurity, SCADA, and networking needs and assisting in vendor due diligence and selection.
• Manage technical, networking, and process interface with third party control centers and/or remote operations.
• Support intra-company teams in project planning, proforma financial model inputs, contract negotiations, and respond to other requests for information as required.
• Assist in review of key project equipment and engineering specifications that reflect GlidePath and project-specific requirements and best practices.
• Organize and maintain critical project resources on Teams, SharePoint, and other cloud storage platforms as needed.
• Coordinate as necessary with local organizations such as fire departments, AHJ's, and vendors as needed to support site activities.
• Make recommendations to optimize project economics.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 5 years of high voltage and/or medium voltage operations experience preferably in DC to AC power plant facility. Battery storage experience highly desirable.
• Proven track record of complex troubleshooting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with data analysis and reporting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with electrical substation equipment, including breakers, large transformers, relays, meters, controllers, and firewalls. Control and HV electrical testing a plus.
• Familiarity with Battery Storage equipment including lithium ion batteries, inverters, and associated auxiliary equipment.
• Familiarity with SEL hardware and software usage to gather relay event data and to make programing changes or resets under the guidance of Glidepath Engineering resources.
• Familiarity with electric power industry data and reporting requirements (NERC, ISO/RTO, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective at communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Prior experience in developing and maintaining written reports, operational metrics, and key performance indicators.
• Familiarity with OSI PI usage
• Past experience in contractor oversight.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Extensive travel required.
• Job Location: Houston, TX strongly preferred.

• Ability to both manage teams and perform required tasks
• Experience with remote operations centers or equivalent
• Conventional knowledge of merchant electricity markets and regulatory frameworks
• Be a strong team player, able to work successfully with multidisciplined teams including representatives from Management, Commercial, and Engineering at GlidePath and our partners.
