The Area Lead is responsible for executing loss elimination within an MSE (Mars Supply Excellence) team and is critical to supporting all MSE pillars, specifically FMOS, FI, and AM. The Area Lead is expected to develop the operating teams' technical understanding, analyze data to identify loss elimination opportunities, lead root cause problem-solving efforts on key chronic losses, and coach operators. Area Leads should be considered subject matter experts on their equipment's functional-technical aspects and the single point of accountability for their assigned area's performance.

Responsibilities


  • Actively participates in daily FMOS meetings. Provides performance data, communicates action plans, and completed work effectively.

  • Understand MSE pillars, with a specific focus on AM, FI, and FMOS

  • Perform AM DMS Health Checks. Act on identified gaps.

  • Executes the Line Loss Analysis. Gather, interpret, and report data on problem issues.

  • Expert for the AM DMSs (Centerline - CL, Clean Inspect Lubricate - CIL, Abnormality Handling - AH, and 5S) and Changeover Daily Management Systems

  • Leads process to document standards.

  • Leads root-cause problem-solving efforts on losses for the line/department. Uses appropriate problem-solving tools (basic and advanced) as needed.

  • Collaborates with line associates and technical groups on improvement recommendations.

  • Provides regular, ongoing communication with line associates and line managers on the status of identified losses and improvement activities.

  • Works with Operations teams to ensure that all Line and Departmental metrics are achieved.

  • Drive safety, quality, and efficiency measures through proactive problem-solving resolution, follow-up, and follow-through.

  • Leads and launches MSE/Process improvements.

Education & Professional Qualifications

4+ years of experience in manufacturing with progressive levels of responsibility or Associate Degree in a technical field of study and 2 years' experience in a TPM/technical manufacturing environment

Knowledge / Experience

Demonstrated excellent mechanical/technical aptitude.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Clear ability to relate to and motivate people.

Provides clear, effective coaching and feedback: process & performance.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel to capture and analyze data)
