Under the direction of thePhlebotomy Manager and the Operations Manager, the Phlebotomy Coordinator isresponsible for all daily phlebotomy operations of the laboratory. This includes the staffing, coordination,training and competencies of the Laboratory Phlebotomy Medical LaboratoryAssistant staff. The specific jobduties are listed below for the Phlebotomy Coordinator.
Qualifications
Required:
Knowledge of Medicalterminology. Ability to effectively dealwith a wide range of personalities, technical and support staff. Requiresintense attention and concentration. Ability to handle several processesconcurrently
3-5 years of phlebotomy experience and demonstrated proficiency in thephlebotomy field
Completion of HighSchool or Equivalent, and Certificate of completion in Phlebotomy or MedicalAssisting or a phlebotomy course as part of an associate or bachelor degreeprogram such as nursing.
A Valid and CurrentDriver's License, and clean driver's record per NSMC policy, which will bereviewed annually during employee's employment.
Preferred:
A minimumof five years of progressive experience in pediatric phlebotomy.
PBT (ASCP)certification or certification obtained within the first year of employment.
