Position Overview
This position performs advanced (senior level) planning, designing, implementation, and research of professional development learning solutions focused on building and enhancing both in-person and online teaching. This position develops short and long-term training goals and course development goals through meeting with DSI and Faculty success leadership, making recommendations for course content, and designing and/or developing course-specific materials. This position has extensive involvement in the design and facilitation of faculty institutes and learning communities. This position will report to the Director of Faculty Development.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in an academic discipline, minimum 4 years' of experience consulting with college faculty on engaging students in learning with authentic scholarly & professional activities. Any equivalent combination of experience/education/training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of learning and instructional design theories and practice as they apply to course development at the college level. Demonstrated ability to support the effective use of online and facetoface instructional materials and current technologies for a variety of learning tasks, student learning needs, andlearning environments. Thorough knowledge of accessibility and copyright issues that apply to all modes of instructional delivery. Commitment to service, respectful engagement, and continuous improvement. Interpersonal skills that promote team building, collaboration, and a culture that principally understands and measures effectiveness in terms of others successes. Experience mentoring colleagues and students, advising and collaborating with peers and coworkers to provide structured feedback and advice
Preferred Qualifications
PhD, EdD, or Masters with minimum 5 years college teaching experience and experience with teaching and developing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
