Job Title: Set Up Press Brake Operator


Summary: We are seeking a skilled Set Up Press Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up and operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing environment. The role involves interpreting blueprints, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring the accurate production of metal components according to specifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal plates and sheets.

  • Interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine setup procedures and requirements.

  • Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures based on job specifications.

  • Adjust machine settings such as speed, stroke, and pressure to achieve desired results.

  • Inspect workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional requirements.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including setup times, materials used, and job completions.


  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a press brake operator in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Ability to set up and operate press brake machinery independently.

  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations.

  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
