Volt is hiring an immediate need for an Electrical Power Engineer in the Golden Triangle.

The Electrical Power Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on medium and high voltage systems. The role includes conducting arch flash studies, designing switchgear, implementing electrical standards, supporting electrical upgrades, and ensuring seamless communication with PLC/SCADA systems. This position will be working onsite with our client located in Nederland, TX in a direct hire opportunity.

As the Electrical Power Engineer, you will;

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for medium and high voltage applications.
  • Conduct arch flash studies to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Design switchgear and other electrical components for optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain electrical standards and practices to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Support electrical upgrades and modifications to existing systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with PLC/SCADA systems for seamless operation.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering matters to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations in all electrical engineering activities.
This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity.


Qualification/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on medium and high voltage systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of arch flash studies, switchgear design, and implementation of electrical standards.
  • Experience working with PLC/SCADA systems and integrating them into electrical control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations, including NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

Salary: $125-165K annually *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
