JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with one of Western New York's most regarded hospitality companies in search of a General Manager to join its growing team!

The General Manager reports to the President, serving as the manager of business operations to optimize functionality of the business. The General Manager will promote collaboration across all departments and implement policies to achieve the company vision, while overseeing daily operations to ensure business goals are met in conjunction with the Production Manager, and Vice President of Wholesale.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the company.
  • Create and execute plans for maximum efficiency in daily operations.
  • Maintain seamless operations in the tasting rooms and food service operation.
  • Ensure coverage in all departments to support daily operations.

Collaborate with the President and CEO to implement organizational vision and strategy.
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organizational-wide goal setting, and annual operations planning.
  • Balance performance of three business lines- on-site, internet.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure successful completion.
  • Present new ideas.

Financial oversight, analysis, and reporting.
  • Work with the President to create an annual budget and report on the progress, tracking assumptions, changes and unexpected events, monthly.
  • Analyze performance of new and ongoing business, interpreting data and metrics.
  • Analyze cost/margins on products and services, adjust where necessary.

Inventory management and oversight.
  • Oversee inventory of merchandise and supplies for daily operations.
  • Managing discount items to assist in proper inventory management.
  • Review together with the marketing department all online sales and strategize based on budget and company objectives.

Promote company culture and vision.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of direct reports.
  • Perform annual reviews together with the President for all direct reports.
  • Document review outcomes and follow-up when necessary.
  • Attend department meetings where necessary to maintain understanding of department proceedings.

Establish and maintain relationships and communication with partners (example: weekly updates on important operational issues and follow-up on action items, weekly sales reporting vs. last year, arranging for in-person meetings when required).
  • Write and submit reports to the President and CEO in all matters of importance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field, preferred (not required).
  • Hospitality experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role, with experience managing daily operations and personnel.
  • Proven experience in successfully leading, coaching, and managing teams in a collaborative, participatory culture.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills, including having and bringing a strong metrics mentality to a workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including being able to audit current software/tools and recommend improvements.
  • Strong ethics and a commitment to company values.
  • Strong ability to work with ownership as a collaborative partner.
  • Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and stand on feet for extended periods of time.

Salary Range
  • $85k - $105k
