Job Description:

HDG is in search of Model-Based Systems Engineers. Successful candidates will craft models, architectural products, and digital artifacts for a system and/or System-of-Systems (SoS) following established standards, best practices, policies, and procedures. As a Model-Based Systems Engineer in this capacity, you'll play a vital role as part of the team, reinforcing assured Command and Control capabilities for our DoD customer within the Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR).

Duties:
  • Employ modeling techniques to assist in the fulfillment of requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities for systems or System-of-Systems (SoS) across the acquisition lifecycle stages.
  • Coordinate and manage information and resources to achieve digital thread-related goals. Foster a model-based culture, harnessing the capabilities of the organization's digital enterprise infrastructure.
  • Leverage model data support to facilitate the establishment of a digital thread across various engineering disciplines, including cyber and configuration management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, operations research, or related fields emphasizing advanced math skills (e.g., business, mathematics, statistics, probability).
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Proficiency in cross-platform collaborative MBSE/digital environments (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx System Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, System Architect).
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework/Unified Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF).
  • Experience providing technical support for developing enterprise architecture to support MBSE to the NOA Chief Engineer, including data structure supporting Systems Modeling Language (SySML) and integration with current data models and tools.
  • Ability to develop engineering technical reports, analyses, briefings, and meeting minutes related to Information Assurance Technical Authority (IATA) responsibilities, System-of-Systems (SoS) and Capability analysis, Cloud Security Development, Trusted Security and Networks (TSN), Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), and Industrial Control System (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
  • Experience tracking and documenting cybersecurity evaluations throughout engineering, procurement, certification, and sustainment phases of acquisition, including RMF, SETR, cyber risk to mission, and cybersecurity readiness.

Salary at Highbury Defense is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements This is a contingent position expected to be in San Diego, CA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
