Achieve the overall cash-donation annual goal for the Mission.
Develop deep and lasting relationships with corporate donors of the Mission
Effectively empathize with donors and clearly communicate our organization’s mission.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Shares responsibility with development colleagues in meeting the department revenue budget
Carries out all donor/prospect gift cycle actions including identification, qualification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation, closure and acknowledgement
Creates strategies to maximize donor interaction, engagement and financial support
Deploys as needed to ensure the timely planning and effective execution of development team activities, campaigns, projects and planning
Actively participates in team meetings providing status updates, offering ideas and sharing solutions
From time to time, speaks to various community audiences regarding City Union Mission’s purpose, programs and services
Keeps donors updated on their lifetime giving records/achievements and value to the Mission.
Handle Development wide duties in the absence of the CDO. Serve in their role as needed.
Coordinate, working positively and proactively with all volunteers to ensure an enriched experience for them, our staff and our guests/residents.
Participate in strategic conversations related to fund raising or development issues.
Stays current and fully informed regarding evolving fundraising trends
Perform other duties as required.
City Union Mission Requirements:

Have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless, and the urban poor of Kansas City, with a compassionate heart.
Agree to City Union Mission’s Statement of Ministry:
Be a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, as expressed by personal testimony and conduct.
Be a member in good standing of a recognized protestant, evangelical church for one year or more.
Have a genuine concern for the ministry of City Union Mission.
Have a minimum of one year of sobriety from alcohol and drugs and six months from tobacco.
Agree to abstain from alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and tobacco while employed by City Union Mission.
Have a lifestyle that is free of sexual sin as clearly defined in the Bible.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must enjoy talking to people and have good communication skills and good time management skills.
Must have a clear understanding of the needs of each department in the Mission.
Education and Experience:
Must have good computer skills and a minimum Associates Degree.
Three years plus business experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing/kneeling, etc.
Must be able to operate a vehicle to attend events or other related functions
Travel Requirements:
Ability to drive to our campuses in Kansas City and in Warsaw.
