Role description:

Arcadis is searching for a Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in Wakefield, MA. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater/stormwater clients in New England and across North America.

Role accountabilities:


  • Complete technical and report writing with guidance from more senior team members.
  • Provide inspection services in the field for ongoing construction projects.
  • Act as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions.
  • Prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice
  • Liaise with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution.
  • Review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards.
  • Further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client's business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to develop personal credibility in the industry

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering,
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to commute to project sites.
  • Minimum 2 years' of experience in engineering,

Skills and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented with knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice,
  • Ability to provide technical guidance.
  • Advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications
  • Proficient in CADD and may have 3D CADD or Revit experience
  • Advanced research, data gathering, technical writing and analysis skills,
  • Developing skills including technical, project management, relationship management, sector expertise and commercial awareness,
  • Work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred,

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000.
