Advertised Job Summary:

Under general supervision, serves as the Graduate Programs Survey Data Analyst for graduate programs faculty and course evaluations, plus other program/projects in the Office of Educational Assessment and Quality Improvement at the School of Medicine-Columbia (SOMC). Designs, develops, implements, and maintains an efficient evaluation database to house all evaluation results. Presents information for decision-making purposes. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.


Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree and 1 year related program experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience. Proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of survey program software (e.g., Survey Monkey, etc.) and experience with large data bases.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Ability to filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and' correct code problems. Ability to work with management to prioritize business and information needs. Ability to locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, and data mining techniques. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data sets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.). Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate
significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings. Ability to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.


Job Duty:

Coordinates and ensures that all graduate program's course evaluations and other program/project evaluations are distributed to appropriate persons at the agreed upon times. Coordinates and ensures that all faculty evaluations are distributed to appropriate persons at the agreed upon times. Regularly communicates with course and program directors to maintain an accurate list of faculty teaching assignments. Communicates with course directors (upon request) as to which students have not completed their evaluations. Coordinates corrective action plan responses from course/block directors.
