ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in accordance with electrical diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications. Responsible for performing root-cause analysis for all mechanical and electrical equipment. Must have advanced skills in mechanical troubleshooting in addition to basic electrical troubleshooting.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requiredPerform preventive and predictive maintenance of all equipmentPerform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment such as: motors, pneumatic, conveyor, blending, scaling, filling, cartooning, coding/printing, electrical, compressed air, vacuum hydraulic and bulk-filling systemsTrain junior mechanics on equipment, procedures and troubleshooting practicesTroubleshoot mechanical systems related to production and plant support equipment ranging from single phase to three phase equipment along with voltages ranging from 5VDC 480 VACRoot cause analysis on equipment of systems failureInterpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawingsTroubleshoot electrical control and safety circuitsTroubleshoot electrical contractors and motorsAbility to use and read a volt meter, amp meter, ohm meterTroubleshoot mechanical issues related to power transmissions, chain and belt drives, cams, bearings, and actuatorsTroubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic controls and componentsAbility to perform basic HVAC troubleshootingTeardown and rebuild gearboxes, clutches, actuators, and other assembles related to equipment repairsProficient in using all hand tools, power tools, shop equipment such as: drill press, surface grinders, torch, plasma cutter, pipe threaded, breaks, presses, calipers, micrometers, other measuring instruments, and test equipmentFabricate parts, guarding, and parts modifications for equipment repairs and improvementsWeld different grades of metal for repairs and fabrication using different plant welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, and Arc)Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.Perform any other duties as instructed by management
