Summary:
Perform duties associated with the Assembly Team to achieve performance goals. This position's primary function will be to assemble, or sub assemble conveyors or conveyor components per prints and/or per general instructions.
Goals:
Maximize results by optimized usage of tools, devices and methods regarding performance, on-time delivery, costs and quality including material supply and skidding. Increase productivity standard times vs. current times, reduction of assembly lead times, increase utilization times, reduce delays and shortages. Assist in reducing parts that are not required in the working area. Provide support so that the material supply is accurate and on time in order to increase productivity on the production line.
Technical Skills and Job Specific Tasks:
Pick, assemble and skid conveyors, line shafts and sub-assemblies in required time and quality using prints, BOMs, and general assembly instructions
Tension belt drives using a sonic belt tension device
Use steel tape measure, weighing and counting equipment, computers, and appropriate handling equipment
Follow all safety rules and practices
Keep area clean (according to cleaning table) or 6S plan
Know and follow all lockout/tagout procedures
Support and follow company policies and procedures
Attend meetings and contribute to problem solving efforts
Report labor in Navision in a detailed and accurate manner .Have a basic knowledge of how to package material for shipment to the customer
Labeling beds per specifications
Carry out quality verifications of in process finished beds according to process documents or QI checklist
Actively engage in continuous improvement and cleanliness (Design of working place)
Instruction of temporary workers or new employees in best practices
Verify all painted material, including channels, and kit per work instructions.
Verify all rollers are available in quantities listed on pick list per work instructions.
Prepare picked items by product number per work instructions
Stage material for assembly per work instructions
Support material flow planning (Kanban, Point of use, packaging requirements for suppliers)
Coordinator or Production Supervisor of missing parts
Level workload in production line Check incoming goods for quality
Support the optimization of material supply (local and synchronized)
Help arrange corrections on the BOM's with input to Planning, Quality and the Engineering department
Qualifications:
Ability to work in work in a team environment
Have a basic knowledge of torque equipment and how to use it
Have a basic understanding of drive trains and how they are adjusted
Must be able to operate fork trucks and walk-behind truck
Must have knowledge in the use of cranes and safe rigging practices
Must be able to use basic hand tools to assemble components
Analyze and solve production requirements by interactive conversation with associates, suppliers and customers
Operate computer terminals as pertains to production area
Lift 50 pounds up to 36" above the floor onto conveyor for testing purposes
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, Bills of Material, etc.
Must have mobility to move around the facilities
Be able to work regular working hours (1st or 2nd shift) to accommodate the teams and production requirements. Must be able to work all over time as scheduled.
