Johnsonville, LLC1st Shift Finished Goods Line Assistant Team Leader - Line 2Watertown, WIPosition Overview: The Finished Goods Assistant Team Leader will work closely with the Team Lead to motivate and engage the team to achieve the team's goals, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork. The Assistant Team Lead will ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements, as well as establish and sustain effective relationships with all Members in order to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems. Responsibilities:
Operate and learn different machines/positions on the line which may include:
Labeler
Wrapping Machine operator
Case packing operator
Quality Enhancement Specialist
Casings
Meat Delivery
Stuffing operator
Traying
Line Support
Proper set up and teardown of equipment
Accurately perform SAP transactions in regards to job duties
Take ownership for your personal safety and the safety of all Members working around you
In addition to the requirements above, the Assistant Team Leader has the opportunity to work with the Team Lead to:
Support the assigned Production Line team in the areas of safety, quality, and cost
Be a safety champion and address issues with safety immediately
Evaluate and coordinate training needs and efforts of production team members required for the current production processes, including quality and safety training
Evaluate daily staffing needs of the line against the production schedule to maintain budgeted resources and to maximize line output
Coach and monitor the performance and development of team members, providing feedback and documenting results through performance appraisals
Lead the disciplinary process when necessary
Lead daily team meetings
Complete daily performance reports and shift paperwork
Effectively communicate information to members and coaches
Lead process improvement initiatives on the line
Be a role model to all members
Education:
High School Diploma Preferred
Associates Degree Preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in leadership/supervision
2 years of Harvest experience preferred
Proven experience in leadership/supervision of others
Bi-Lingual knowledge of Spanish and English preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Basic Mechanical skills /aptitude necessary for equipment set up and operation
In depth knowledge of equipment functions and the ability to assist in troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand a production schedule
Identify and resolve potential problems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Must have desire to learn and grow and share information with fellow Members
Willingness to continuously improve performance and job knowledge
Excellent prioritization skills
Must have a very keen eye for visual inspection purposes and a strong attention to detail as it relates to product quality
Excellent attendance and performance record
Proactive team player, dependable and detail oriented
Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Must be able to read/write and complete production documentation accurately
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
The ability to spend time on other shifts for training when required
Bi-Lingual knowledge of Spanish and English preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to hand grip up to 50 lbs, and lift/carry/push/pull up to 30 lbs
Walking and/or Standing throughout the shift
Bending and/or Reaching throughout the shift
Willingness to work in cold conditions
