Job Description:

Michael Baker International is seeking an Architectural Student Intern for our New England Operation in Rocky Hill, CT who is enthusiastic and motivated to work in Transit Architecture. This internship offers the opportunity to join a team of experienced architects, interior designers, site/civil engineers, and building systems engineers. The successful candidate will demonstrate creative problem-solving, organizational skills, strong production capabilities, and a good understanding of construction documents and constructability. This position will provide support on a variety of transportation projects.


  • Prominent transportation facilities, urban infrastructure, transit-oriented development and national projects
  • AMTRAK, CTDOT, RIDOT and MBTA facilities nationally

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks.
  • Draft details and make minor ACAD revisions.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member.
  • Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture at an accredited University or College; minimum of 2 years of coursework completed
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong visualization skills with the ability to execute three dimensional designs and renderings
  • Ability to use Revit and BIM software for the production of design and construction drawings, a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365; Bluebeam experience is preferred

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $20 - $24 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
