Checks all unit emergency equipment as required, documenting date and name on appropriate log
Performs selected non-nursing procedures and other technical procedures including phlebotomy as delegated by the RN
Check department refrigerator temps and records on a daily log
Provides for the comfort needs of the Infusion patients
Reports all pertinent observations to appropriate person promptly and as directed
Documents patient information accurately and in a timely manner according to policy
Maintains confidentiality of patient information
Utilizes computer for order entry, results reporting and documentation
Escorts/transports patients, equipment, specimens, supplies, etc. as assigned
Answers the telephone in the infusion unit when available
Blood product and lab specimens are picked up and/or delivered to lab
Assist patients to the bathroom
Obtain frequent vital signs and weights as directed by RN
Reports to patients the anticipated wait times as instructed by RN
Stocks the infusion treatment area with popsicles, ice chips, linen, etc. and procures supplies as needed
Restocks medical carts
Organizes work and sets priorities in collaboration with the Charge Nurse/Designee based on patient care needs and unit activity
Maintains clean equipment and work area
Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies
Provides general assistance to staff and physicians as requested
Provides other duties as assigned
Assists in maintaining a safe environment; follows hospital policy and procedures regarding patient safety and staff safety procedures
Incorporates Infection Control standards in daily activities
Safely uses patient care equipment, reports any safety hazards
Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and hospital personnel

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Training Certificate Program required
Prior 1-3 years of experience required
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Basic computer skills necessary
Good customer service and communication skills with ability to deal with a wide range of personality types is necessary; ability to deal with diverse cultural backgrounds
Good organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
