The Stem Cell Institute is currently seeking a full time Post Doctoral Associate to work in Miami. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

Department Specific Functions
This position will be responsible for performing various complex technical duties involved in conducting physical, chemical, biological and other research laboratory tests and experiments to obtain data for research purposes. Will be involved in pre-clinical trial experiments related to pharmacologic and stem cell research .
JOB DUTIES:
1. Continuation of existing research efforts at the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute, including the conduct of basic science and translational stem cell biology research that is applied to the development of cell-based and pharmacologic therapies for clinical trials. 2. Teaching and training graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research associates and other professional trainees. 3. Review laboratory methods, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments. 4. Develop new methodologies or expand existing ones. 5. Recommend accurate or efficient laboratory equipment or procedures. 6. Set up instruments, material and apparatus and operate laboratory equipment required for specific tests. 7. Assist in writing and designing experimental procedures, as required and communicate with the PI or assigned supervisor about experimental data or laboratory or other work-related issues.
8. Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies. 9. Participates in the publication of significant research results. 10. Advances expertise through education, training, and research. 11. Participates in writing extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate. 12. Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures. 13. Weighs and anesthetizes laboratory animals for experiments. 14. Operates sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment. 15. Performs analyses to complete research test results. 16. Performs photography and dark room processing. 17. Participates in training sessions and workshops. 18. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
