Department Summary

The Educator Preparation Program at UNT provides teacher candidates the opportunities to move beyond being students of organized knowledge to becoming teachers who put their acquired knowledge into practice in EC-12 classrooms. The Clinical Practice Office supports this goal through partnerships with district and school teachers and administrators to provide field-based preparation opportunities for both undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students seeking initial teacher.

Position Overview

The Department of Education-Ed Prep seeks cadre coordinators who liaison between a specific public school district and the COE Clinical Practice Director. Responsibilities may include assisting with weekly clinical student seminars, field supervisor training, cooperating teacher orientation, campus administrator orientation to UNT COE educator preparation programs, observation of teacher candidates, and documentation related to courses.

UNT is committed to preparing future teachers in progressively field-based learning environments. Teacher candidate preparation culminates with a 2-3 semester Professional Development Sequence (PDS). Candidates are grouped in cadres that are specific to one of UNT's partner school districts. The last PDS semester is the supervised clinical teaching semester.

This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters.
