Reporting to the Executive IT Director for Teaching and Learning, the Senior Director of Virtual Teaching and Learning will lead a dedicated team, including Technical Directors and Directors, responsible for providing comprehensive delivery and support to faculty and students engaged in virtual and hybrid learning formats.
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the integration of technology into the educational experience, working with Facilities and IDEA AV team in the design, and oversee implementation and management of virtual teaching spaces and platforms. Additionally, the Senior Director will collaborate with Wharton Computing and Wharton administrative leadership to develop strategic plans for the growth and enhancement of virtual learning initiatives over 1, 3, and 5-year horizons, including the development of resource and infrastructure needs to scale with programmatic growth. Working closely with instructional design teams in IDEA and specific programs, the Senior Director will adapt curriculum and pedagogical strategies for virtual delivery, ensuring alignment with educational objectives. Moreover, they will conduct research and analysis to anticipate challenges and opportunities in virtual learning technologies, proactively addressing issues to enhance the overall learning experience.
